Is there a public library located near Waterman Village?
The W.T. Bland Public Library is a full-service community library located less than a mile from Waterman Village on Donnelly Street. This library is a part of the Lake County Library System (Florida) and is well-known for its community classes that are open to the public. Waterman Village residents over the years have greatly enjoyed this accessible and valuable resource that has been key to helping them continue a journey of lifelong learning.
Outside of the book loan program, residents can visit the library to use computers, explore the Mount Dora Archives and attend educational programs. The library also has many family-friendly programs that make it a great destination when the little ones visit.
How many staff are there to plan activities for the independent living residents who live at either The Oaks or Lakeside at Waterman Village?
Waterman Village has three full-time activity staff professionals, two full-time wellness/fitness staff members and one full-time brain fitness coordinator. The staff members are all fully designated to independent living activity programming and planning.

What area do most Lakeside at Waterman Village residents come from?
While many of our residents come from within 10 miles of our community, Waterman Village attracts new residents from across Florida and the United States. Waterman Village has especially attracted interest among retirees living in The Villages area, like our very own Deb Brown who shared her story with us. Local seniors move here because of Waterman Village’s reputation, extensive facilities and amenities, and its one-of-a-kind social and wellness activity calendar. Our premier location in Mount Dora was ranked the #1 small town in Florida to retire to by USA Today and Florida’s “Friendliest Small Town” by Florida Living Magazine.
